inaugural lesson

On Wednesday 17 November 2021, Polytech Intl Group will hold the traditional inaugural lecture every year.

This 8th lesson, which will be presented quite solemnly by Pr Chiheb Bouden, former Minister of Higher Education, is intended to be eloquent and will deal with a topical theme: "the Engineer as Entrepreneur".Pr Chiheb BOUDEN graduated from the National Engineering School of Tunis (ENIT) in 1984, he then obtained a Diploma of Advanced Studies in "Solar Energy" from the University of Paris-Diderot (1985) and then a Doctorate in Physics and Energy from the same university in 1989. He is currently a professor at ENIT, where he has been working as an engineer and research professor since 1984.

During his professional career, he has led several research projects financed by the Ministry of Higher Education and the National Agency for Energy Management as well as by economic companies. He has also participated in several research projects in the framework of bilateral (France, Spain, Portugal, India, Greece ...) and multilateral (European Programmes: FP6, FP7, Eranetmed ...) cooperation. His field of expertise covers solar energy conversion and development of renewable energy systems for industry, agriculture and buildings, energy system modelling, energy management in buildings and thermal comfort of occupants. He is the author of several scientific papers in these fields.

He has been a visiting professor and research associate at several European and North American universities.

Chiheb BOUDEN is very active in civil society. He is a founding member of the International Association for Solar Energy Education (IASEE: 1991-1995), which later became the education section of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), of which he has been a member since 1987 and a member of its executive board (2004-2007). He is a member (since 1987) and president (since 2011) of the Association Jeunes-science de Tunisie, he was a member of the executive board (1996-2000), then vice-president (2014-2018) of the Association of ENIT graduates; he has also contributed to the animation of several Tunisian scientific and cultural associations

He has held several pedagogical, academic and administrative positions including Director of the Department of Industrial Engineering (2008), Director of ENIT (2008-2014), Director General of Higher Education (2014-2015) and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (2015-2016).
